Filament assembly (toothbrush) implementation study
Removing filament bundles of various cross-sections from a dispenser using a robot-guided gripper
The task of robot-assisted robotic measuring is to insert the filament bundles into several holes of different filament shapes as automatically as possible. One challenge lies in filling the holes of the filament moldings, which have various basic shapes and sizes. The filaments are therefore introduced at different angles and by using different types of filaments.
The basic structure of the robotic measuring system consists of a robot with gripper, a camera and force sensor
In addition to the basic setup, a test setup with dispenser, filament molded body and lighting will be built. To remove filament bundles of various thicknesses from the bundle dispenser, a servo gripper is mounted on the robot. Different cross-section sizes are required on the dispenser in order to be able to achieve a square bundle cross section when tapping. The robot system can be equipped with several bundle dispensers with different cross-sectional areas as well as several shaped filament bodies. It is possible to automatically learn the insertion positions using image processing. It is also possible for the robot to learn the target positions of the shape holes using image processing and a reference position. The filament bundles are inserted in a force-controlled manner, resulting in a self-optimizing fine correction of the target positions. All relevant system components (robots, image processing, bundle dispensers, lighting, etc.) are controlled using the Battenberg RobFlow© measurement software. The system is easy to program thanks to the Battenberg RobFlow© measurement software and the additional integrated image processing, as well as a high degree of flexibility and expandability of the entire testing system or the robotic measuring system.
Testing of measurement robots to ensure quality and function
The measurement robots are specified and defined as a measurement reference in order to create a clear basis for decision-making for the final product evaluation and its approval.
Recognized and valued as a benchmark to meet the OEMs' and suppliers' acceptance scenario and to verify test results in accordance with contracted product specifications, with the aim of accepting the manufacturing quality of the product. Our factory standards and validations guarantee accurate product quality ratings, which are confirmed by our clients' auditors.
