The Battenberg robotic measurement system positions and moves test dummies and test tools on and over the vehicle seats. Using a real-time controller and CAD interface, the measurement points and every movement path are programmed quickly and easily.
Use of force sensors and special tools
Battenberg Robotic Measuring is equipped with force sensors and uses special haptic tools to introduce force into the vehicle seat or actuates the seat adjustment mechanisms to adjust the length, height, backrest and headrest.
Battenberg Robotic Measuring guides a dummy buttock or back shell across the seat with constantly controlled forces. The movement path is adjusted in real time to the behavior of the upholstery in real time, so that every test movement is carried out with a constant introduction of force. This optimally tests the behavior of the foam and the cover. The handles for lengthwise, height and backrest adjustment as well as for headrest height adjustment are operated via the Battenberg measuring robot and carries out the seat adjustment processes. The necessary operators are measured, analyzed and evaluated over the course of the force and path. In the longitudinal and height adjustment, the adjustment path of the seat carried out per move is measured; in the case of headrest height adjustment, the number of detected snaps is measured in addition to the actuating force and the adjustment path. Electrical switches for seat adjustment can also be operated.
